About

Blockwright is a turn-based building puzzle. Each turn you are shown three floors from the run's deck: a shopfront, a brick floor, a log cabin floor, a greenhouse, a roof. Place one on the tower or set it aside in the yard. The roof ends the run, and the finished house moves onto a plot in your city. The catch is load. Every floor has a weight and a strength, the total weight it can carry above itself. The rule is checked for every floor of the tower on every placement, not just the one underneath. A light floor low down will crack under the weight you stack on it, and the game shows you exactly which floor gives way before you commit. WHAT MAKES A GOOD TOWER • Harmony: neighbouring floors of the same material earn a bonus; four of the same in a row cost you points. • Orders: each run comes with a target height and two or three conditions, such as a café on the ground floor, no glass below the third floor, or a weight limit. Conditions tick off the moment you meet them. • Special floors: a glass studio accepts only a roof above it, a balcony needs brick or stone below, a water tower sits directly under the roof, a spire pays off only on a light tower. • The yard: set a floor aside for later and bring it back when the tower can take it. A CITY THAT GROWS Finished houses fill the plots of your current district. Complete a district to open the next, each with its own sky, its own floors and its own kind of order: Old Quarter, Market Row, Glass Quarter, Clockside and Skyline. Permits are the only currency. You earn them by building and spend them on new floor types, a second bay in the yard and district projects. Permits are never sold. THE DAILY TOWER One shared tower a day: the same deck and the same order for everyone, whatever you have unlocked. Play it as often as you like; your best result of the day counts, and consecutive days build a streak. YOUR OWN BUILDING Every district has one memorial plot. Photograph a real building you like, crop it to the frame, and it stands in your city with a soft, painted look. The photo stays on your device. It is decorative only and never affects orders or scores. BUILT FOR SHORT SESSIONS A run takes two to four minutes. You can leave between turns and pick the tower up later. Sixteen goals give you something to aim for beyond the next order. WHAT IS NOT IN THE GAME No account. No internet connection. No adverts. No timers, no energy, no second currency. One optional purchase, the City Architect Pack, adds facade colours, city looks, an instant replay button and a badge for your city name. It changes nothing about the rules, the scores or the daily tower. Blockwright supports iPhone and iPad, including Split View and resizable layouts on iPad.Read more
