About

KoreanWar is a large-scale turn-based strategy simulation of the war fought on the Korean peninsula from June 1950. Take command of the United Nations forces and run cities, corps, fleets, air power, and research from one map. The UN force is not one nation's army. Sixteen countries sent troops to help Korea — the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Türkiye, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Thailand, the Philippines, Ethiopia, and Colombia — and each of them is in the game with its own units. The Turkish Brigade, the Greek Sparta Battalion, the Philippine 10th Battalion Combat Team, Australia's 3 RAR, Canada's 2 RCHA, New Zealand's 16th Field Regiment, and South Africa's 2 Squadron each take the field with their own weapons and firepower. Deploy them yourself from any city. Play 6 historical scenarios: Invasion and the Pusan Perimeter, Inchon Landing and Advance North, Chinese Intervention and Retreat, UN Counteroffensive and Spring Offensive, the opening of the hill battles, and the final stalemate. Each scenario changes the front line, the occupation map, and the forces in the field. Command the Republic of Korea, the United States, British and Commonwealth forces, and the other UN contingents while the communist side is run by the AI. The war is fought across 65 cities on the peninsula, 24 rear bases, and 12 sea zones covering the West Sea, the East Sea, and the Korea Strait. Run your cities to raise troops and supplies, organize corps, build fleets in your ports, and station aircraft on your airfields. The cities you hold and the sea routes you control are your supply line. Ground war is a war of fronts and logistics. Infantry, tanks, machine guns, mortars, anti-tank guns, and artillery are drawn from 107 weapons tuned to their historical character. Battles resolve automatically or you can fight them yourself, directing bombardment and field treatment turn by turn. The battle map follows the place you are fighting in: the streets of Seoul, the streets of Daejeon, the Naktong riverbank, the Inchon mudflats, the shore of the Chosin Reservoir, the Punchbowl basin, a snow-covered mountain road. The sea and the sky are part of the war. Fleets move through sea zones and routes and refit in friendly ports. Load aircraft onto carriers, shell the coast with naval guns, and take a port by landing on it. Each airframe has its own range, so what you can reach depends on what you fly. Bomb enemy cities, fight the interceptors that come up to meet you, and drop airborne corps from transport aircraft onto enemy cities. ## How to Play - Choose a scenario and the nation you will command - Tap a city on the world map to produce, build, organize corps, and deploy available UN formations - Select a corps, pick a destination, and move it to attack enemy cities - When a battle starts, resolve it automatically or fight it yourself - Build a fleet in a port, send it into a sea zone, and shell or land on the coast - Station aircraft on airfields to bomb enemy cities and answer interceptors - Research training, logistics, close air support, and artillery in stages - End the turn, read the situation report, and prepare the next one - Save and load at any time ## Key Features - The units of all 16 UN contributing nations - 6 historical scenarios - 27 campaigns with 81 ground, air, and naval battles - 65 cities on the peninsula, 24 rear bases, and 12 sea zones - 107 weapons tuned to their historical character - Both auto-resolved and manual battles - 24 battle backgrounds matched to where you fight - Carriers, carrier aircraft, shore bombardment, and amphibious landings - Per-airframe range, city bombing, and interception dogfights - Airborne corps, transport aircraft, and air drops - City management, construction, upgrades, and bombing damage - 12 research steps - Save and load - English, Korean, French, Spanish, and Turkish supportRead more
