About

Which knot for which job on board? Pick the job and see the right knot, why it's the right one and how to tie it, step by step. Practice and spaced review help you remember it. WHAT DO I NEED? Type what you're about to do in your own words, like "hang a fender" or "tie two ropes together", or tap one of 14 situations on board: tying to a cleat, a ring or a post, making a fixed loop, joining ropes of different sizes, reefing a sail, man overboard and more. You can also search by the name you know, like "square knot" or "figure of eight". STEP BY STEP Every knot is a clear animation split into steps, with a tip for each one. Tap a step to jump to it, slow down to half speed or skip straight to the tightening. The clove hitch is shown both on a post and on a rail. Left-handed mode mirrors the animations. MORE THAN THE STEPS Each knot's page also covers what it's for, what to watch out for, what not to use it for and how to untie it. PRACTICE Identify: name a knot from its finished shape. Order: put a knot's steps in order. Situation: pick the right knot for the job. You can also practice a single knot with the Practice button on its page. SPACED REVIEW Knots you mark "Got it" or get right in practice come back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days, so what you learn stays with you. A wrong answer starts a knot over. WORKS OFFLINE Everything is inside the app, so it works at anchor, offshore and anywhere without signal. No account, no ads and no data collected. THE KNOTS Bowline, Cleat Hitch, Clove Hitch, Round Turn and Two Half Hitches, Figure-Eight Knot, Sheet Bend, Reef Knot and Rolling Hitch. In English and Turkish.Read more
