About
Daily Scroll closes your social apps for the whole day and opens them for one hour. The hour is the same for everyone: 8 to 9 PM, your local time. Nobody picks their own. When it opens, everyone around you is scrolling too. When it closes, everyone stops. There is nothing to configure and no schedule to tweak. You choose which apps count, and Daily Scroll does the rest. HOW IT WORKS • Pick the apps to keep closed. The app suggests a list: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and the rest of the feeds. Messaging apps like Messages, FaceTime, WhatsApp and Signal stay available all day. • Outside the hour, opening a blocked app shows a countdown to the next Scroll instead. • At 8 PM the shield lifts on its own, even if Daily Scroll isn't open. At 9 PM it comes back. • The home screen is a wall of countdowns: a clock with the hour marked, a progress ring, a timeline of your day, and the numbers in words. • Optional reminders ten minutes before the Scroll opens and closes. WHEN YOU REALLY NEED OUT You can pause blocking for 15 minutes, but you have to keep the app open on the pause screen for five minutes first. Leaving resets the timer. It is meant to be annoying enough that you only do it when it matters. Pausing resets your streak. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Daily Scroll uses Apple's Screen Time framework. Apple never tells the app which apps you chose or how you use them, and the app has no account, no analytics and no server. Nothing leaves your phone. Daily Scroll requires Screen Time access, which you grant on first launch.Read more
