Two are puzzles, two do the sums a real lacemaker needs, and everything stays on your own device. On the Plait Pricking bench a run of crossings lies tangled across the strands. Tap two crossings that sit on the same gap with opposite over-and-under sense and they cancel and lift away. Reach the target tangle before your lifts run out. Sixty-four levels climb from three strands to eight, with far commutation arriving at level nineteen and pinned crossings at thirty-seven. Pin Ground hands you a pricking card. Each pin covers its own hole and its neighbours. Finish with every plain hole covered an even number of times, every rose hole odd, and every ringed hole pinned. Seventy-two cards grow from three by three to six by six. Thread Bench reckons bobbin pairs, holes, thread length and weight. Piece Log keeps finished work with ground, thread and hours.
