About

Gloaming Quillon is an offline field ledger for anyone who watches wolves. Everything you record stays on this device. There is no account, no network call and no data collection of any kind. THE TRAIL The home screen is a single-file run: eight wolves walking a diagonal trail through a winter dusk, and each one is a section of the ledger. No tab bar, no plain lists. YOUR PACK Build a card for every animal you can tell apart — name, role in the pack, coat tone, markings and a portrait from the camera or your library. Each card counts its own encounters and keeps the entries it appears in. THE LOG Write an entry while it is fresh: time, zone, how many wolves, what they were doing, terrain, weather and how sure you are. Attach a photo of the ground, a print or the skyline. Entries group by day and filter by confidence, terrain, photo and recency. A deletion can be undone. TERRITORY Sketch the ground you cover on a radial map drawn from your own bearings — dens, rendezvous sites, crossings, kill sites, boundaries and open water. Every zone carries a photo, notes and each sighting logged there. FIELD GUIDES Eight prints drawn to shape from their own measurements, with strides, print lengths, what sets each apart and which look-alikes to rule out. Six howl types shown as pitch curves — trace a curve with your finger and the guide points at the nearest shape it holds. Eight behaviour tags explained: what each one means, what to look for and what it asks of you as an observer. ALMANAC Moon phase computed locally for the next fourteen evenings, with twilight windows and an activity index. It is a heuristic and the app says so on the screen — a planning aid, never a prediction. PLAN THE NEXT OUTING Pick an evening from the almanac, a zone from the map, dusk or dawn, and work through a short kit checklist that stays until you change it. FIELD NOTES What your own records add up to: field time logged, sightings by month, behaviour distribution and how sure you were — every figure drawn from your entries and nothing else. METRIC OR IMPERIAL Distances and print sizes follow the units you choose. Export a plain-text field report whenever you want to share what you have. Free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no sign-in.Read more
