About

Sipmate is for the evening you have free and nobody to spend it with. Say what you're up for tonight — a pint after work, a glass of wine, a mocktail, a coffee if that's the mood — and Sipmate shows you people nearby who are up for the same. Cheers someone and they get your plan as an invite; when they say yes, a chat opens so you can sort out where and when. TONIGHT, NOT SOMEDAY Most apps ask who you are. Sipmate asks what you're doing tonight. Your status — what you fancy, which bar, how many of you, how long the plan stands — is the thing other people see and answer, and it expires on its own. No stale plans, no profiles that have been sitting there since March. COMPANY, NOT A BAR TAB There are no drink counts, no streaks, no leaderboards, nothing that turns an evening into a score. Zero-proof is a first-class option: tag it, say it in your status, and you'll find people doing the same. Nobody owes anyone a round. DRINKING BUDDIES BY DEFAULT Sipmate is platonic-first. Everyone sets an intent — Drinking buddies, or Open to whatever — and buddies is the default. It's a signal on the card, not a mode, and it keeps the app honest about what it is: somewhere to find company for the evening. BUILT FOR MEETING IN PUBLIC Plans point at a venue by name, never an address. You see a rounded distance — "1.2 km", "under 500 m" — never anyone's coordinates, and nobody ever sees yours. The match screen reminds you to meet at the bar, not at home. SAFETY IN ONE TAP Block from any profile or any chat: it hides the two of you from each other immediately and ends the match. Report with a reason — fake profile, harassment, underage, unsafe behaviour — and every report gets read. Unmatch quietly whenever you like. The house rules are four short rules, and you agree to them on the last onboarding step — before you ever see a card. HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in with Apple or Google. No password to forget. 2. Build a card in three steps: a photo and a name, what you drink, roughly where you are. 3. Set tonight's plan. 4. Cheers the people nearby you'd like a drink with. They see your plan as an invite; a yes opens a chat. 5. Pick a bar and go. Sipmate is 18+, and older where the law says so — 21 in the United States, 20 in Japan and South Korea. Please drink responsibly, or don't drink at all. Sipmate works exactly the same either way.Read more
