About

Fare Enough is a taxi meter for your iPhone, made for fun. Choose a real city's published taxi tariff, go for a drive and see what the ride would cost there. At the end, you get a receipt. It is for the curious, for friends sharing a drive, and for anyone who misses the glow of an old meter. Fare Enough is not a certified or calibrated taximeter, and it is not for professional drivers. Its receipts are not fiscal documents, and each one says so: “Not a fiscal receipt. Made with Fare Enough.” REAL CITY TARIFFS • Tariff packs based on the published taxi tariffs of Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Warsaw, Kraków, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more, plus a ride-hailing template for each country. • Day, night, weekend and public holiday tariffs, and zones in some packs. The meter suggests the tariff that applies, or switches by itself, as you choose. • Copy a pack and change its numbers, or make your own. Share packs as files and import them. THE METER • Off duty, Free, Hired, Paused and To pay, as on a taxi meter. • The fare comes from GPS distance and waiting time, in the tariff's own steps. • It runs by itself: no need to touch the phone while you drive. • Extras such as luggage, an airport charge or tolls. • Discounts for friends (Simple, Friends or your own). The receipt keeps the official prices and shows the discount on its own line. • Mark a stop, and the map and the receipt show each leg of the ride. • See the fare on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. • Turn your phone on its side for the hardware meter: glowing 7-segment digits, backlit keys and each pack's own words, like LIBRE, FREI or WOLNY. RECEIPTS • PDF or image, with the route on a street map. • Receipt rolls from 56 to 80 mm (or any width from 40 to 112 mm), A6, A4 or Letter. • Print directly on a Phomemo M110 receipt printer over Bluetooth. PRIVACY • Free, with no ads, no account and no analytics. • Everything stays on your phone. The app goes online only to ask Apple Maps for the map and street names. • While a ride runs, the meter uses GPS, also with the screen locked. That takes more battery. ALSO • Try it without a car: a demo ride plays back a route through Madrid, Berlin, Warsaw or New York. It is on the Developer page: tap the version number at the bottom of Settings seven times to open it. • In English, Spanish, German and Polish. Fares change, so check local rules. In a real taxi, the fare on the taxi's own meter is the one that counts.Read more
