About
Sanskar Bodh is a value-education app for school students of Class 1 to 12. Every lesson begins with a picture and a short story from everyday life, moves on to a Sanskrit verse from the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata and other classical texts, and ends with one small resolve the child can actually keep that day. FOUR STAGES, EIGHT TOPICS Lessons are grouped by age, so a child of six and a student of sixteen each get what suits them: • Shishu (Class 1–3) — big pictures, sound, very little reading • Bal (Class 4–6) — short stories with simple verses • Kishor (Class 7–9) — real situations, meaning, reflection • Tarun (Class 10–12) — study of the texts and self-examination Each stage covers eight topics: Truthful Speech, Non-violence and Compassion, Respect for Parents and Teachers, Cleanliness and Daily Routine, Diligence and Self-reliance, Self-control, Care for Nature, and Society and Nation. FIVE PARTS IN EVERY LESSON 1. A picture to look at 2. A story, read aloud in a clear voice 3. A verse with word-by-word meaning, source and recorded pronunciation 4. One line of practice — what to do today 5. Play — questions suited to the child's age SAY IT YOURSELF In the verse screen a child can tap "Now you say it", speak the verse, and see how close it was. This check happens entirely on the device; nothing a child speaks is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. BOTH LANGUAGES The whole app — stories, questions, buttons — switches between Hindi and English with one tap, so English-medium and Hindi-medium students can sit together over the same lesson. PRACTICE AT HOME Every lesson carries a small task for home. A parent confirms it in the app once the child has done it, because a value is learned by doing, not by reading. ENCOURAGEMENT THAT IS EARNED A daily lamp for regular practice, levels from Jigyasu to Acharya, and collectible cards. Rewards come from conduct, not from merely turning pages. CONTESTS A five-question daily contest, a weekly school contest through a class code, a monthly national contest at a fixed hour, and a yearly grand contest with a certificate. WORKS OFFLINE Lessons, pictures and audio are kept on the phone after the first download, so a child can study without an internet connection. Free to use. No advertisements. No in-app purchases. Made by Vaidik Apps for the RSV Group of Schools, Bikaner (established 1959), under the Rashtra Sahayak Vidhyalaya Samiti.Read more
