Ferrule Kestrel is an offline locker for the people who actually maintain their kit. Every knife, headlamp, length of cord, striker and multitool gets a card with its weight, condition, purchase date, notes and a photo you shoot yourself. Nothing leaves the device. THE LOCKER Add gear in seconds: name, category, weight in grams, condition and a note. Search by name or note, filter by category, sort by name, weight or date added. Swipe to star the pieces you rely on, swipe the other way to retire what you no longer carry. PHOTOS THAT STAY PUT Shoot an item with the camera or pull a shot from your library. The photo is written to the app's own storage as a JPEG, so it is still there after a restart — on the item card, in the recently added lane and in the photo studio. Replace it or remove it whenever you like. OUTINGS AND LOADOUTS Plan a trip, pick the terrain, and build the pack from the locker. The running weight updates as you add items and a fill bar shows how you sit against your limit — over the limit is called out with an icon and a label, not just a colour. Past trips are grouped by year with the exact load you carried and a summary that saves itself while you type. MAINTENANCE THAT REMINDS YOU Log sharpening, cleaning, oiling, repairs and inspections against a specific item. Service intervals follow condition: mint kit gets 240 days, solid 150, worn 60. Anything past its interval lands on the Waiting for service screen, sorted by how far behind it is, with a one-tap way to log the work and reset the clock.
