The AnthroCalcCP app uses the Life Expectancy Project's Cerebral Palsy Growth Charts [Brooks J, Day SM, Shavelle RM, Strauss DJ. Pediatrics 2011;128(2):e299–e307] and the LMS method [Wright CM, Reynolds L, Ingram E, Cole TJ, Brooks J. Dev Med Child Neurol 2017;59(9):933–938] to calculate percentiles and Z-scores for height, weight, and body-mass index (BMI) for children and youth ages 2 to 20 years, based on their gross motor function classification system (GMFCS) level. These charts are available at lifeexpectancy.org/articles/growthcharts.shtml. As explained in the 2011 article, the weight measures were validated, but the heights (and by extension BMIs) were not. Accurate assessment of stature is often difficult in children with severe cerebral palsy. Many thanks to Jordan Brooks PhD, MPH, FAACPDM from the Life Expectancy Project for providing the LMS data.
