About
Crest is the system of record for a youth soccer club. It holds the club: organisations, seasons, divisions, teams, and who is registered to each one. It holds the people: a person exists once, not once per season and not once per team, so a parent who also coaches is one record with two roles rather than two records that disagree with each other. WHAT YOU CAN DO Overview. Your club at a glance. How many seasons, divisions and teams exist, which season is active, and how many player registrations sit across all of them. Teams and rosters. Choose a season, then a team. Every team shows its division and how many players are registered to it. A roster lists first name and last initial, role, and shirt number. Names are abbreviated on purpose: a roster never shows a child's full name. Calendar. Club and team events, who has said yes, and who turned up. An event can be cancelled, and everyone who was going sees it. Feed. Club announcements, with comments and reactions. Posts are written by club staff and carry an audience, so a team notice reaches that team. Any member can report a comment, a moderator can hide it, and every moderation action is recorded. Photographs. Club photos and files, uploaded from your phone and visible to the people the club has decided should see them. People. Personal records, for club staff only. Legal name, age band and contact email, with a filter by name. The service behind this screen refuses other applications outright rather than handing them a filtered answer. Access. One set of switches per person, covering sign-in, profile, notifications, photographs and connected apps. One set shared by every guardian, so two parents cannot hold two different answers for the same child. Every change is recorded, and the record is visible to every guardian. HOW ACCOUNTS WORK Crest does not create people, and there is no sign-up. A person is created by club registration, where anyone under 18 gets a guardian on the record and anyone under 13 gets a recorded parental consent as well. Signing in with Google or with Apple finds the person your club has already registered, and nothing else. An account that nobody has registered is refused, on purpose. You can delete your account from inside the app, on the Account screen. HOW CONSENT WORKS Age decides only who may answer, never what is possible. Under 13. A guardian sets the switches. There is no way for a child to ask for more, deliberately. 13 to 17. A guardian sets the switches and the player may ask in the app. Any guardian may answer, and may change that answer later. 18. Guardianship ends. Two switches are marked apart from the rest, because they are the two that leave the club: appearing in public photographs, and sharing outward to social networks. Photographs are published against the permissions in force at the moment they are published, and a later change applies from that point on. Crest records the consent that was in force, which is something it can prove, instead of promising to unpublish things that have already been shared onward. WHO IT IS FOR Crest is operated by Nipomo Soccer Club and is used by club administrators, coaches, team managers, board members and guardians. Access is by club invitation. If your club does not use Crest, there is nothing here for you to sign in to. PRIVACY Crest holds registration data because a club needs it to run: legal name, date of birth, contact details, guardianship, and team membership. There is no advertising in this app, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Personal records are readable only by club staff whose role allows it, and the other applications on the platform never receive them at all.
