About
The moon over the fjord is thinning, because the signs that held it up fell into the water. You keep the cairn on the headland. Signs rise out of the black water toward a halo of lantern light, and each one asks a different thing of your hands: a Wane Glyph takes a single tap, a Deep Glyph wears a ring that has to be pressed and held until the ring closes, and a Hollow Shard has to be left alone entirely. Three wicks burn in the lantern. One goes out when a sign escapes past the halo, one goes out when you touch a shard, and a Hearth Glyph caught in time puts a wick back. Inside one watch the moon turns four times, and the rules turn with it. Waxing is plain reading. Full drives everything faster and lifts your Chant Verse a rung, so clean catches start paying double, triple, quadruple. Waning is where the shards learn to wear a glyph's face, and where most keepers lose a wick to something they were certain about. New Moon runs eight seconds, takes the light away, leaves outlines only, and counts every point twice. Eight nights carry the story from First Sliver to The Cairn Rekindled, each with its own spawn table and its own threshold. After them the Endless Watch has no target and no end, only a lantern that eventually goes out. What you gather turns into Rimesilver, and Rimesilver cuts marks into the Cairn Wall: twenty four invented signs, each with a name, a meaning and a few lines from Hedra Wanesdóttir, who has been carving that wall a long time. Portrait, offline, no ads, nothing to buy, no account, no tracking.Read more
