About
Blazehin Foni is a visual pyrometer for hot-glass artists. Point your camera at a glowing gather, drop a sampling reticle over the brightest patch, and the app reads the blackbody color of the glass -- mapping it along a calibrated 10-rung heat ladder that spans 480 to 1300 degrees Celsius (or Fahrenheit). Within seconds you see a temperature band, a verdict (Too Cold, In Window, Too Hot, or Burning), a signed delta to the nearest edge of your working window, and a countdown showing how many seconds remain before the glass falls out of temperature. Every reading is calibrated to your real conditions. Choose from five ambient light presets -- dark shop to direct sunlight -- and the engine applies the correct bias correction, widening the uncertainty band accordingly. Select from 11 glass bodies (soda-lime, borosilicate 33, COE 104, lead crystal, fused quartz, and more) and 9 studio operations (gather, marver, blow, neck, punty transfer, glory-hole reheat, kiln soak, and others). Each operation defines a working window relative to that glass body's own published fixed points, so one calibrated rule set covers every body in the library. The Ladder screen is the heart of the app: a vertical, scrollable temperature axis where your current working window is marked and your last reading bead docks at its position. A companion fault reference covers nine heat faults -- devitrification, thermal shock, chill marks, seed lines, cord, sugaring, blister, cold shut, and strain halo -- each with a description, the reading that predicts it, and the fix. A bench shelf covers stock forms, tools, and heat sources with per-item reading notes. The readings log stores every session with photo, patch color, verdict, glass context, piece tag, and notes, with filters by verdict and side-by-side comparison of readings for the same piece. Blazehin Foni is fully offline. No network connection, no subscription, no account required. It is a craft instrument built to the same honest standard as your physical tools: every output carries an uncertainty band, never a bare number, because temperature by color is an estimate -- and knowing the range is what keeps your glass safe.Read more
