About
Every tuner tells you the note. On a pedal steel, the note was never the question. Steel Tuner tunes each string to the chord your pedals and knee levers are actually making — so the chord rings instead of wobbling. A chromatic tuner wants every string at 0 cents. But press the A pedal and your B strings become the third of an A chord, and a third tuned to 0 cents beats about four times a second against the root. That's the restlessness you hear. Steel Tuner works out where each string should sit for the chord you're playing, and moves every target the moment your foot moves. WHAT YOU GET • Targets that follow your feet. Press a pedal or lever and all ten strings are re-aimed for the new chord. • Honest about the strings that can't be fixed. On E9, strings 1, 4 and 7 are asked to be two different notes in different chords. Steel Tuner tells you which ones, shows what each compromise costs, and gives the stop-screw adjustment for the seven that can be fixed. • Watch the note settle. Two and a half seconds of pitch history show a string arriving sharp and settling, instead of a needle that jumps around. • Not stuck on whole-Hz steps. The notes this instrument cares about fall between the settings of a 440/441 tuner — a 1 Hz step is almost 4 cents. • Built on real charts. Starts from the published Emmons chart, and marks every number as measured or calculated so you always know which is which. • Your guitar, your setup. Every string, pedal, lever and half stop is editable — even mid-tune, with the bar in your hand. Share your setup with another player as a single file. • Cabinet drop kept separate, so you're never chasing two problems at once. NECKS E9, C6 and U-12 universal, plus C6 and E13 lap steel and open G resonator. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens on your phone. No account, no ads, no tracking — nothing is recorded or sent. Every tuner tells you the note. On a pedal steel, the note was never the

Steel Tuner tunes each string to the chord your pedals and knee levers are
actually making — so the chord rings instead of wobbling.
A chromatic tuner wants every string at 0 cents. But press the A pedal and
your B strings become the third of an A chord, and a third tuned to 0 cents
beats about four times a second against the root. That's the restlessness you
hear. Steel Tuner works out where each string should sit for the chord you're
playing, and moves every target the moment your foot moves.

The Jeff Newman tuning chart for E9 and C6, with his wording on the pedal and lever buttons and his "hold these pedals down while you tune" instructions. The Emmons chart now labels buttons the way that chart does: Pedal 1/2/3, LKL, RKR and so on. New copedents under Manage copedents: E9 (Newman), C6 (D on top) and C6 (Newman). Targets that need a half-Hz tuner setting now say so.
