Kresopis

Your grandmother said the family came from Horodek. You type "Horodek" into today's map and find nothing. The village changed countries and spelling four times before it vanished from the registers altogether. Kresopis links a pre-war place name to its modern counterpart in Belarus or Lithuania. Type the name the way you remember it, even with a typo or without Polish diacritics, and the app finds matches with their administrative and parish affiliation. Records were kept by parish, not by village, so that field is the key to your next search. On top of that, a personal family archive built for the realities of the region: one person could have three different spellings of a surname in three different offices, patronymics were the norm, and records were kept by three different faiths. You record people, facts, and family links with any amount of missing data: just a year, just a first name, "somewhere near Nowogródek". Coverage today: the Nowogródek and Wilno voivodeships. More voivodeships arrive in later versions. Works fully offline. Your family tree and searches stay on your device, no account, no cloud. One-time purchase, not a subscription. Place search is free and unlimited. The full family organizer (people, facts, relationships, editing, GEDCOM export) unlocks with a single payment.
