About
Spokete is the working bench companion for the traditional wheelwright. Whether you are fitting an iron tyre to a farm cart, a brewer's dray, or a coach wheel, Spokete handles the bench mathematics — shortening, forge temperature, quench time, drop-on clearance — so you can concentrate on the fire and the hammer. At the heart of the app is the Bond Round screen. Enter your traveller rolls around the rim and around the tyre, and Spokete returns the achieved shortening against the prescribed figure for your timber, iron section, and duty. The verdict — BONDS, SLACK, or CRUSHES — tells you whether to take the wheel off the hooks or start again. A forge temperature arc shows the working heat window capped at your timber's scorch ceiling. Quench time and hoop compression follow automatically. The Set-Out tool draws the wheel at true scale — plan view and dish section — and produces a full mortise table: station, angle, ring, offset, and shoulder for every spoke. Photograph the real wheel on the bench and overlay the station ring with the Condition Map; tap any station to pin a fault and track its severity across the build. Nine faults, nine tools, eight duties, and eight nave stocks are all here for reference, with risk scores adjusted live to your wheel's verdict, timber, and dish. Every record — bond entries, fault pins, shop settings — stays on your device. No account, no subscription, no network required. When the round is done, export a printed Bond Ticket to your photo library: a ruled shop card carrying every figure, the drawn wheel, and the verdict, ready to file with the job.Read more
