INKREEL

INKREEL — One Line Runs True A carpenter's ink reel, rebuilt as a physics toy. Set two anchors on the plank, pull the cord off the spool and feel the tension climb under your finger. Too slack and the mark wanders. Too tight and the cord ruptures in your hand. Only inside a narrow sweet band does the line land dead straight. Pigment is finite — watch the vat drain with every stroke and decide when a refill is smart rather than wasteful. And the wood fights back: read the grain, angle your line under fifteen degrees, and the fibre carries it clean. Cross it, and the board drags your mark into a curve. Three disciplines, three reports, one standard. Leave a line worth cutting to.
