About
Barnehager i Norge brings the public facts about every kindergarten in the country together in one place, and makes them easy to compare. Choosing a kindergarten, or moving to a new municipality? The app shows you what is nearby, how big each kindergarten is, how many staff it has and how parents themselves rate it. How to find your way: • Search near me. The app uses your location and lists the kindergartens around you, nearest first. You choose how wide the area should be. • Browse by county and municipality. Pick a county, then a municipality, and see every kindergarten there. Search by name and filter by your child's age. • See the figures for a municipality. Each municipality has its own page that sets its figures next to the national average, so you can see how it compares. For each kindergarten you get: • Address, phone and email, which you can tap to call or write • Ownership, type and opening hours • The ages it takes, and the food charge • Number of children, number of staff and the share of qualified kindergarten teachers • Play and activity space per child • Whether it meets the national teacher ratio • Results from the parent survey: wellbeing, development, information and the outdoor and indoor environment, with response rate and year • A link to the municipality's application page where there is one The app speaks English and Norwegian and follows your phone's language. The data comes from the Norwegian authorities, so names and some details stay in Norwegian. The app is free, with no account and no sign up. One small ad at the bottom of the home screen keeps it that way, and the app asks for your consent first where the law requires it. You only need a connection to fetch data, and your location if you want to search near where you are. Your location is used for that one lookup and is never stored. The data comes from Barnehagefakta at the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training, who keep it up to date. The app shows it as it is. Inneholder data under NLOD, tilgjengeliggjort på data.udir.no.Read more
