About

Make your images lighter, one photo at a time. PhotoCompact lets you adjust image quality and dimensions, compare the original with the processed result, and save a separate copy to Photos. Your original stays unchanged. CHOOSE YOUR IMAGE Import JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, or HEIC images from Photos or Files. You can also paste a copied image. PhotoCompact processes one image at a time, up to 30 MB and 25 megapixels. ADJUST AND COMPARE Choose a quality level or a target file size for JPEG and WebP processing. Resize while preserving the original proportions. Use the comparison slider and zoom controls to inspect the result before saving. If a result is larger than the original or exceeds your target, PhotoCompact tells you. SAVE TO PHOTOS Save a new JPEG or PNG directly to your photo library. PNG preserves transparency. With WebP selected, PhotoCompact saves a full-size PNG copy to Photos; its saved size may differ from the WebP result shown in the app. There is no separate WebP file export. PROCESS ON YOUR DEVICE No account or image upload is needed. Images already available on your device can be processed offline. Retrieving an image from iCloud Photos or another file provider may require a connection. PhotoCompact does not keep an image history between app sessions. FREE, WITH ADS PhotoCompact remains free and may show an ad before saving. Close the ad to continue saving your compressed copy. When an ad is unavailable, saving continues directly. Ad privacy choices are available in Help where required. Advertising data is handled separately from the optional app-improvement choices below. Your images are not uploaded for advertising. OPTIONAL APP IMPROVEMENTS In Help, choose whether to share crash reports, share usage statistics, or download updated default quality and target-size settings. These are three separate choices, all off by default. Compression and saving work with all three off. Updated defaults apply to a new editing session without replacing your current settings. If you enable a service, Google Firebase processes the diagnostic, activity, or installation information needed for that service. Your selected images are not uploaded. See the Privacy Policy for details. FORMAT DETAILS Saved images are still, standard-brightness sRGB images. Supported HDR photos are converted to standard brightness. Animated inputs use their first complete frame, and Live Photos use the still image supplied by the system. Some image variants are not supported; PhotoCompact explains when an image cannot be processed. JPEG fills transparent areas with white. PNG uses lossless encoding for the processed pixels. Exported copies omit the original EXIF, GPS, and XMP metadata. PhotoCompact requests permission to add photos only when you save. Your original image is never replaced. In PhotoCompact, 1 MB means 1,024 KB and 1 KB means 1,024 bytes.Read more
