About
Tap Tempo finds the beats per minute of whatever you are playing or listening to, and keeps the ones worth keeping. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. TAP IT IN Tap the large surface in time with the music. A tempo appears from the second tap and settles with every one after it. The reading is taken the moment your finger touches the glass, not when you lift it, so what you tap is what you get, and a short haptic marks each tap. On iPad the space bar taps too. Beside the tempo you get half time, double time, the length of one beat in milliseconds for delays and modulation, and the Italian marking the tempo would be written with, from Largo to Presto. Stop for two seconds and the next tap starts a fresh count. A Round switch turns the readout between whole numbers and one decimal. LISTEN FOR IT Point the microphone at a record, a rehearsal or a room and the app works the tempo out on its own, with a confidence reading so you know how much to trust it. Audio is analysed on the device as it arrives: nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and the microphone is only ever asked for when you open Listen. KEEP IT Save any tempo with a name and the date, from either mode. The list stays the same on iPhone and Apple Watch, so a tempo saved on one turns up on the other. ON APPLE WATCH The watch app runs on its own, with no iPhone needed. Tap a tempo on the full screen, listen for one, and look through what you have saved. The Digital Crown trims the reading a beat either way before you save it, and a complication puts the app on any watch face. Dark by design, with full light mode on iPhone and iPad. No subscription, no ads, no account, no tracking.Read more

TAP IT IN
Tap the large surface in time with the music.
LISTEN FOR IT
Point the microphone at a record, a rehearsal or a room and the app works the tempo out on its own, with a confidence reading so you know how much to trust it. Audio is analysed on the device as it arrives: nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and the microphone is only ever asked for when you open Listen.
KEEP IT
Save any tempo with a name and the date, from either mode. The list stays the same on iPhone and Apple Watch, so a tempo saved on one turns up on the other.
ON APPLE WATCH
The watch app runs on its own, with no iPhone needed. Tap a tempo on the full screen, listen for one, and look through what you have saved. The Digital Crown trims the reading a beat either way before you save it, and a complication puts the app on any watch face.
Dark by design, with full light mode on iPhone and iPad. No subscription, no ads, no account, no tracking.
