About
App Purpose, Target Audience & Value Parashat Yeshua is a Bible and Hebrew-calendar resource designed to help users observe, study and understand Shabbat, the biblical feasts and the weekly Scripture portions wherever they are in the world. Its primary purpose is to make it easier to keep track of Shabbat times and biblical feast days according to the Hebrew calendar and local sunrise and sunset times. Keeping track of these times manually can be difficult, particularly when travelling or living in a different time zone. Parashat Yeshua provides live countdowns in days, hours, minutes and seconds, helping users know when Shabbat begins and ends. Users can allow the app to determine their location automatically or manually select a location anywhere in the world. The app also provides countdowns to biblical feast days, helping users prepare in advance. Whether preparing a sukkah, obtaining a lulav, planning family activities or simply preparing for observance and study, users can easily see how long remains until the next feast. Read This Week provides convenient access to the weekly Torah portion and Haftarah, with options to read or listen. Messianic and Christian users can also access the corresponding B'rit Hadashah (New Testament) readings. Users learning or reading Hebrew can switch between English and Hebrew to read along with the Hebrew text. The app uses the World English Bible (WEB) with Hebrew names restored, as explained in Settings. Users who specifically wish to read the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) can follow a link directly to the corresponding passage on BibleGateway. The Archive contains all 54 weekly portions, allowing users to return to and study any portion throughout the year without having to search for passages manually. Parashat Yeshua also includes resources for families, children and new believers. The Family section provides a short, approximately two-minute summary of the week's portion followed by accessible questions designed to encourage families to discuss what they have read. A Hebrew-learning feature introduces a relevant Hebrew word from the weekly portion, including its meaning and how it is written, helping children and those learning Hebrew build vocabulary. Settings include dark mode, text size, background colour, text colour and manual location selection. The app is free to use. Target audience: • Jews and Messianic believers who want to keep track of Shabbat and biblical feast days according to their location. • Messianic and Christian users who want convenient access to weekly Torah, Haftarah and B'rit Hadashah readings. • Christians interested in learning about and observing the biblical feasts. • Families and parents who want an accessible way to study and discuss Scripture with children. • New believers looking for a straightforward Scripture study resource. • People learning Hebrew who want to become familiar with Hebrew names, words and reading. • Anyone wanting to study the weekly Scripture portions and access all 54 portions throughout the year. Overall, Parashat Yeshua brings the Hebrew calendar, Shabbat and feast-day countdowns, weekly Scripture readings, audio, Hebrew-learning resources and family study materials together in one accessible app, reducing the need to search across multiple resources to plan, observe and study.Read more
