About

Anyone can say they ran a hundred kilometres. GritCore asks the harder question: how many people ever have? Every official ultra in GritCore — a 100 km run, the height of Everest climbed in one effort, a ten-minute plank — comes with an estimate of how many people have ever done it. Do one, prove it, and get the number that goes with it: about 1 in 12,000. Not a badge everybody gets. A place on a very short list. HOW IT WORKS Pick an ultra, or invent one of your own for others to claim. Prove it. Verify it from a workout recorded in Apple Health, or claim it yourself and add a link to your proof. People who were there can vouch for you. See where it puts you. Every verified ultra places you against the world, and against everyone else on GritCore. VERIFY WITH APPLE HEALTH Connect Apple Health and GritCore reads the workout you pick: its type, duration, distance and the height it climbed. It reads only when you ask it to — when you verify a claim or sync a duel. Never in the background. It never reads your route, and it never writes anything to Apple Health. DUELS Challenge someone you follow. Pick what counts — distance, climbing, time or reps — stake Grit, and let what you record decide who takes both stakes. Grit is a number inside the app and nothing more: it can't be bought, sold or cashed out. NATIONS Verified athletes raise their country's score. The nations table resets every month, and each season's winner keeps a star. HOW RARE IS WHAT YOU DID? Done something that isn't listed? Describe it in one sentence and get an estimate of how rare it is. The sentence goes to Google's Gemini to make the estimate — only after you allow it, and never with your name. If the estimate holds up, turn it into an ultra others can claim. ABOUT THE NUMBERS Nobody keeps a register of everyone who has run 100 km. Every figure in GritCore is an estimate built from race results, federation data and published participation numbers, and the app labels each one as an estimate. They are honest estimates, not certified records, and they will tighten as better sources arrive. 24 BADGES, BRONZE TO MYTHIC Summiteer. Centurion. Ironheart. Vanishing Point. None of them is handed out for opening the app. WHAT GRITCORE DOES NOT DO No ads. No tracking. No location permission — it is never requested. Your data is never sold. Delete your account from inside the app whenever you like; it is immediate and permanent. BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANYTHING Extreme physical feats carry a real risk of injury or death. GritCore describes feats; it does not coach, supervise or judge anyone's readiness to attempt one, and nothing in it is medical advice. You decide what to attempt. If you are unsure whether something is safe for you, speak to a doctor first. Free. In English, French, Spanish, German and Dutch.Read more
