About
SwitchTrace keeps a small outlet directory on your Apple Watch. Connect the iPhone charger, name the outlet on iPhone and start a trace. Keep both apps active and reachable to view the phone's reported charging status on your wrist. After a fresh reported charging loss, choose a breaker number with the Digital Crown and save the label on the Watch. Find saved notes in the directory and remove an entry with confirmation. Charging status is an observation, not proof of a circuit's condition. A disconnected charger, charging management, or delayed updates can change what you see. SwitchTrace does not measure voltage, verify a breaker mapping, or determine whether electrical work is safe. Use appropriate equipment and qualified help for electrical work. Live observations require a paired iPhone and Apple Watch with both apps active and an available connection. Updates can stop when either app is inactive; reopen both apps to obtain a current observation. Saved notes are stored locally on the Watch. There is no app account, developer telemetry service, or cloud note sync in this version. Apple-managed device backups may include labels. Requires iOS 17 or later and a compatible paired Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later.Read more
