About
Read a real book in the language you are learning, and never leave the page to look a word up. Tap a word and its meaning appears. Hold a sentence and the whole passage comes back in English. Both answers come from the device itself — the Spanish dictionary is built into the app, and the translation is Apple's own, running on your phone. TWO LIBRARIES, BOTH FREE Project Gutenberg's classics, on shelves for popular, short, kids, tales and adventure. Bloom Library's levelled readers, graded one to four for people just starting. Every book is free and openly licensed. Nothing to buy, no account to make. SORTED BY HOW HARD IT READS Neither catalogue publishes a difficulty rating, so this app works one out from the book's own sentences. Shelves come back easiest first, which means you can start where you can cope and climb. EIGHT LANGUAGES Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch and English. Spanish carries a full dictionary inside the app, so it works with no signal at all; the others look up against Wiktionary. EVERY WORD YOU PICKED Words, sentences and passages you asked about are kept together in one deck, in the order you met them — so finishing a book leaves you with a list worth going back over. SET THE PAGE Type size, typeface and paper colour, all on one screen, shown over a paragraph set the way your book will be. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no ads, no analytics. What you read and what you looked up stays on your device. Books come from Project Gutenberg (public domain) and Bloom Library (CC BY 4.0 and CC BY-SA 4.0), and the built-in Spanish dictionary is drawn from Wiktionary (CC BY-SA 4.0). Every book names its own copyright holder, and the full credits, licences and the changes this app makes to a text are in Settings › Credits.Read more
