About
"Dig your way to Tunisia!" Can you dig straight down from where you stand and surface in the country on the card? Tilt your phone to choose the direction, then dig. It is a guessing game about the far side of the Earth. ■ How to play 1. A country appears as your goal, and a thirty second timer starts. 2. Tilt your phone. A line of light moves under your feet, and the name of the country you would surface in is shown live. 3. Tap "Dig!" Mog, a mole in a hard hat, digs through the crust, the mantle, the outer core and the inner core, and comes out the other side. 4. Land in the right country and you get a GOOD! Miss it, and a blue line shows you the answer: "tilt 12 degrees more to the northeast". Five rounds per game. The goals are random every time, starting with large countries and moving to smaller ones. ■ Every second left is a point Thirty seconds per round. The seconds still on the clock when you land become your score, up to 150. Hesitate and the points drain away; run out of time and Mog starts digging in whatever direction you happen to be holding. Aiming well is only half of it. Aiming quickly is the other half. ■ Tilt one degree, and the exit moves two When you dig straight through a sphere, the exit moves twice the angle you tilt. A flick of the wrist can change your destination by a whole country. Holding the direction steady is the skill. ■ Something you may not know Japan is not above Brazil. Dig straight down from Tokyo and you surface in the middle of the South Atlantic, about 1,100 km from the nearest land. ■ You are always at the center The glass Earth on your screen is centered on wherever you are standing. In Tokyo you dig from Tokyo, in Los Angeles from Los Angeles. Travel, and the reachable countries change with you. ■ Three ways to look ・Underfoot: look down the tunnel from your own eye level ・Globe: watch the whole Earth and check your direction ・AR: see the inside of the Earth through the floor in your camera ■ Or just dig, with no clock at all Tap the × on the goal card and the quiz stops: no goal, no timer, no score. Dig wherever you like, as often as you like, and take your time reading what is on the other side: the local time, the season, the distance straight through the Earth, the distance around it, and how far the nearest land is. ■ Point at the sky The sun appears in its real direction and height. Day and night are drawn on the Earth, and the app tells you when your sunset is their sunrise. ■ No connection Borders are built into the app. It never connects to the internet. Your location, tilt and camera are used only to draw and calculate, and never leave your device. Your best score and the number of countries you have hit are stored on your device only. No ads. No purchases. No sign-up.Read more
