About

A calendar that lives on your watch face. See a long weekend before you read it. Consecutive days off are not a row of separate red numbers — they become one vermillion band, so "how many days am I off" arrives before you start reading. Today is marked with a seal: a shape, not a colour, so it survives a tinted face and Always-On. ■ It does not disappear The complication pre-builds 48 hours of entries. The date rolls over even if the app never launches, and the display survives a lost connection. When the data does get stale we do not hide it — after six hours it says plainly when it was last updated. ■ It does not get the date wrong Japanese era years, era boundaries, leap years and time zones are all computed by Foundation's calendar. No offset arithmetic, no string substitution. The 令和元年 and 平成元年 forms, and the 1 May 2019 switchover, are pinned by tests. ■ Holidays ship inside the app Japan's official Cabinet Office holiday table is embedded verbatim (2019–2027), and later years are computed with the same rules and checked against the official gazette on every build. Holidays for Korea, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Taiwan and Hong Kong are embedded too — including lunar ones like Seollal and Chuseok, which no rule can compute. Nothing is fetched at runtime, so red days stay red in airplane mode and out of signal. For company days off or another country's holidays, subscribe to a calendar on your iPhone and DateFace can read it as a holiday source. ■ Japanese almanac (optional) The twenty-four solar terms and seventy-two microseasons, in one line — it changes every five days. The table is checked against the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. ■ It fits where you are The complication gallery suggests what your own calendar prints. In Europe that is the ISO week number; in Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong it is the lunar date; in Japan it is the era year. Nothing is hidden — every format stays in the picker — but you are not shown someone else's calendar first. ■ Typeface Set the numerals in mincho. Apple Watch ships no CJK serif, so a subset font is bundled (SIL Open Font License) — dates, weekdays, times and the era all come from one family. ■ Three complications · Calendar — week, three weeks or month. Holiday bands, today's seal, event marks · Up Next — one to four events. All-day handling, in-progress handling, optional date header · Date — ten formats, including Japanese era, era with Gregorian year, lunar date, ISO week number and weekday only Place several of each and configure them differently. A calendar filter keeps birthdays and subscribed calendars from crowding out your meetings. ■ One price No in-app purchases, no subscription, no account. You pay once, and nothing else is ever sold to you. ■ Nothing leaves your device There is no server. Your events and settings stay on your Apple Watch. No account. Requires watchOS 11 or later; the iPhone app requires iOS 18 or later. English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).Read more
