Transcribe Notetaker

Transcribe Note turns what you say into text in real time and saves it as a text note on your iPhone. Use it for meeting minutes, lecture notes, and interviews. Conversations that mix Japanese and English are transcribed as they are. TRANSCRIPTION WITHOUT AUDIO RECORDING This app does not record or save audio. Microphone audio is only streamed to a speech recognition service for transcription, and no audio file is kept on your device or on a server. The only thing you keep is the transcribed text. REQUIRES A SPEECH RECOGNITION API ACCOUNT Transcribe Note transcribes using a third-party speech recognition API. Before you start, sign up separately with one of the following services and enter the API key it issues on the app's Settings tab: - Soniox (console.soniox.com) - Deepgram (console.deepgram.com) Speech recognition usage is billed directly to you by that company under its own pricing. The app's developer does not charge for or resell API usage. REAL-TIME TRANSCRIPTION Tap "Start Transcribing" and talk. Your words appear on screen as you speak. Tap "Stop and Save" and it becomes a note. Choose which service (Soniox or Deepgram) to use for real-time transcription in Settings. SPEAKER LABELS AND TIMESTAMPS Each time the speaker changes, a label such as [Speaker 1] or [Speaker 2] is added, and each line starts with the time it was spoken, like [14:03:12]. See who said what, and when, at a glance. KEEPS GOING WHEN THE SIGNAL DROPS If the connection drops, the microphone keeps running. Audio that hasn't been sent yet is held temporarily in memory and sent as soon as you're back online (it is discarded once sent and never saved). Transcription also resumes automatically after you plug in or unplug a headset, or after a phone call interrupts. The transcript is saved as a draft as you go, so nothing is lost even if the app quits unexpectedly. WORKS WITH THE SCREEN OFF Transcription continues while your iPhone is locked or while you use other apps. Screen updates pause while the display is off to save battery. TRANSCRIBE FILES YOU ALREADY HAVE Transcribe existing meeting recordings and audio files from the Files app or your photo library (this feature uses your Soniox API key). Only the audio is extracted from videos and compressed before upload, so it uses far less data than the original file. SEARCH, SHARE, AND EXPORT Search the full text of every note. Share notes as Markdown, copy them to the clipboard, or export all your notes at once. PRIVACY - Audio is never recorded or saved. It is only sent to the speech recognition service you choose, for transcription. - Your transcribed notes are stored only on your device. - Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. - No account sign-up required. SETTINGS FOR BETTER ACCURACY - Language hints (Japanese + English, Japanese only, English only, or auto-detect) - Context: add names of people, products, and technical terms in advance (with Soniox) PRICING The app is free to use. A banner ad is shown at the bottom of the screen, and you can remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase. Use "Restore Purchase" to bring it to other devices signed in with the same Apple Account.
