Swap Night: White Elephant

Swap Night hosts your Christmas gift exchange on a single phone. Whether it is the office Secret Santa or a White Elephant swap with the family, the app keeps the turns, the rules and the gifts in order, so you can enjoy the party instead of refereeing it. What is a White Elephant? It is the gift game where everyone brings a wrapped present. On your turn you either unwrap a new one or steal a gift that someone else has already opened. In the US it is also called a Yankee Swap. It is brilliant fun, and it gets confusing quickly. Swap Night does the bookkeeping. Set up your party - Add players with a name and a colour. - Choose how often a gift can be stolen: once, twice, three times or without limit. - Freeze a gift after a set number of steals. - No instant steal-backs: nobody can grab back the gift that was just taken from them. - Player 1 gets a final swap at the end. - Add an optional turn timer of 30, 60 or 90 seconds, and a note about the spending limit. Fair turn order An animated shuffle reveals the order for everyone to see. During the game The current player opens a new present or steals one. Log each gift with its name, who brought it if you like, and a photo from the camera or your library. Only stealable gifts can be picked, frozen gifts are locked, and anyone who has just been robbed takes the next turn straight away. Steal counters and frozen badges update as you go, and Undo fixes a mistaken tap. Gift board A grid of every opened gift with its current holder, its steal dots and its frozen status. Secret Santa draw with no emails Add participants, set exclusions for couples or households, and note the budget and the exchange date. The draw makes sure nobody picks themselves or an excluded person, and if your exclusions make a draw impossible, it tells you plainly. Then pass the phone round: each person taps their name and holds to see who they are buying for, and the name hides again as soon as they let go. You can see who has already looked, and a redraw always asks you to confirm. No accounts, no email addresses, no server. Recap card At the end, a recap card shows who went home with what and which gift was stolen most. Share it with the group as an image. Party history Look back at earlier parties and where every gift ended up. Free and Premium Swap Night is free to download, and the free version runs a whole party: up to 8 players with classic White Elephant rules, a Secret Santa draw for up to 8 people with exclusions, the recap card, and your most recent party saved. Swap Night Premium adds unlimited players, the Dice Swap game and custom rule presets, full party history, gift photos on the recap card, and extra themes. Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription that you can cancel at any time in Settings.
