About
GoCheckMyWeather shows official National Weather Service data, as issued, with nothing added and nothing hidden. It carries the same data as gocheckmyweather.com, built for the phone: alerts as notifications, widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen, and the last reading kept for when you are offline. ALERTS FOR YOUR PLACE Choose a place once, by your location, a ZIP code or a city. When the National Weather Service issues a watch, warning or advisory for that place, you get a notification. Alerts arrive as NWS wrote them, and the app tells you plainly when it cannot reach NWS rather than showing a quiet all-clear. A WIDGET ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Your place's own sky, drawn from the reading and the hour, with the temperature, today's high and low, and what changes next. An active watch or warning takes a band across the top, with the time it ends. It says when its reading was taken, and offline it shows the last good one with its age rather than a blank. It never shows "no alerts" because a check failed. EVERYTHING FROM THE SITE Live radar with a loop. The hourly and seven-day forecast. Active alerts with the full as-issued text. The Hurricane Center with the NHC cone, forecast track, watches and warnings, and where the storm sits relative to land. Coastal, river, boating and surf conditions where NWS publishes them, including tides. WHAT IT IS NOT GoCheckMyWeather makes no forecasts of its own and makes no emergency decisions for you. In an emergency, follow your local officials. It presents National Weather Service data; it does not replace it. PRIVACY No account. No ads. The place you choose goes to the National Weather Service and the other government feeds to fetch your readings, and nothing else leaves your phone unless you turn alerts on, when the notification address Apple issues to this app is kept so that place's alerts can reach you. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else. WIDGETS Right now: the sky over your place, the temperature and today's high and low. Next six hours: the same reading with every hour, its chance of rain, and what changes next. Today and the week: today's hours and the next five days on one scale. The full picture, on iPad: today, the next ten hours and the whole week. Lock Screen: the reading, today's high and low and any alert, in the circular, rectangular and inline sizes. Any Home Screen widget also shows in StandBy. GoCheckMyWeather is part of the GoCheckMy family of sites from Go Check My Brands LLC.Read more
