About
SousCard is a digital recipe box for people who would rather cook than scroll. Every recipe you save becomes the same clean card: ingredients first, method below, no life story, no pop-ups, no auto-playing video. Your recipes live on your phone, in a layout you can read at a glance from across the kitchen. Four ways to add a recipe · Type it: A purpose-built ingredient editor with real fractions (1/2, 1/3, 3/4), quick unit picking, and mixed metric and imperial in the same recipe. · Clip a link: Paste a URL, or share a page to SousCard straight from your browser. The recipe is read from the page directly and rebuilt as a card. · Take a photo: Photograph a cookbook page or handwritten index card and SousCard reads it on the device. · Import a PDF: Point to a local file or one on your cloud drive, and bring in these favourites in the same SousCard format too. Every clipping pauses at a review screen before it saves, highlighting anything uncertain, and asking for you to check. The same purpose-built ingredient editor handles corrections there, and any time you want to change something later. Cook Mode, built for the countertop: · Large, high-contrast type you can read from three feet away, one step at a time, with cook times and temperatures highlighted for easy at-a-glance viewing, and ingredients pinned for continuous reference. · Buttons big enough for floury hands. · The screen stays awake while you cook. Your recipe box, organised · Search across titles and ingredients. Tag by meal type, cuisine and dietary need, and filter by any combination of them. · Add your own photo to a card. Keep your own notes on what you changed and what worked. Private by construction · No account. No sign-up, no password, no email address. Your recipes, your data. · No servers of ours. Recipe scanning and text recognition run on your device. · No ads, no interruptions. · No tracking. Anonymous feature usage analytics only, never your data, and you can turn it off. · Works with the network off, apart from clipping a web page. Your recipe box is a file on your phone, backed up to your own Apple Cloud account by Apple itself. SousCard exists because recipe websites got worse. It's your recipe box, not a feed.Read more
