4est: Mushroom Logbook

4est is a private mushroom logbook for remembering what you found, where you found it, and the places you may want to revisit. - IDENTIFY WITH ON-DEVICE SUGGESTIONS Take or import a mushroom photo and 4est can suggest possible species using on-device recognition covering around 2,800 scientific identities. Review the suggestions and confirm the one that fits, search the recognition taxonomy manually, or add another photo with Improve Identification. Recognition suggestions are never automatically treated as confirmed identification. - BUILD YOUR PERSONAL SPECIES LOGBOOK Personal Species turns confirmed findings into your own mushroom collection. See which species you have found, Finding and location counts, first and latest findings, personal photos, and your history for each species. A species counts only when the Finding has a confirmed or manually selected identity, a real photo, and a valid location. - TURN PHOTOS INTO HISTORY Import existing geotagged mushroom photos and rebuild past observations from their dates and locations. Recognition can run automatically for imported mushroom photos and Quick Capture. - MAP YOUR OWN PLACES See your findings together on a private map, revisit individual observations, and keep track of familiar places without publishing your spots publicly. - LOG NEW FINDS FAST Quick Log lets you save an observation quickly while you are outside. Photo-less Quick Logs remain in History but do not count toward Personal Species. - WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTEXT 4est combines your own observation history with available environmental information to help you revisit familiar places. Tomorrow is decision support based on your private history and conditions — not a prediction or guarantee that mushrooms will be present. - PRIVATE AND LOCAL-FIRST Your history belongs to your account. 4est is designed to work local-first, with account data and eligible media synchronizing when available.
