SendMasked hides who a document is about, not what it's about. You want to ask ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini about a tenancy agreement, an employment contract, a court bundle or a GP letter, but the text contains names, National Insurance numbers, bank details or addresses you'd rather not hand over. SendMasked replaces them with placeholders on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, before anything leaves the device. You review exactly what gets hidden, paste the masked text into the AI you already use, then paste the answer back: the real details are restored on your device. HOW IT WORKS 1. Paste text or open a document: PDF, Word, Excel, email, or a photo of a paper page. 2. Review what's masked, highlight by highlight. Tap to unmask, or select anything the app missed. 3. Copy the masked text into your AI chat, or send it straight from the app with your own API key. 4. Paste the answer back. Placeholders turn back into the real names and numbers, on your device. WHAT GETS MASKED • Names, with one placeholder for "Joe", "Joe Bloggs" and "Joe's" • National Insurance numbers, NHS numbers, Irish PPS numbers and US Social Security numbers • Phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, postcodes and Eircodes • Bank details: sort codes, account numbers, IBANs, card numbers • Passport and driving licence numbers, Companies House numbers, UTRs and VAT numbers • Passwords, API keys and usernames written in the text • Amounts, which can be scaled so the AI can still reason about proportions Organisations and reference numbers are suggested so you decide. Profiles for legal, property, accounting, healthcare and HR set sensible defaults, and you can write your own rules. Irish, Australian and Swedish documents are supported too. HONEST ABOUT LIMITS Masking is automatic text recognition, not a guarantee. It can miss unusual names or odd formats, which is why you always review before sending. On devices with Apple Intelligence it adds a second layer for names; older devices use the built-in engine only. SendMasked hides identities, not the subject: the AI still sees the dispute, the terms or the diagnosis, and details like a job title plus dates can sometimes point to someone. NO SERVERS. NO TELEMETRY. SendMasked has no servers that your documents pass through, and no usage analytics. It works in flight mode. If you add an API key, it stays in your keychain on this device, and the masked text goes to the provider you chose (OpenAI, Anthropic or Google) under their terms.
