About

Cagebook is a map of land-based casinos with a private ledger behind every pin. The catalog lives inside the app — 6,360 venues across 173 countries — so browsing, search and "near me" all work in an elevator, on a plane, or in a basement poker room with no bars of signal. Tap a pin for directions, mark it visited, or start a session there. Behind each pin is your own book. A session records the buy-ins, the rebuys, the tips, the cash-out and how long you sat there, in whatever currency you were playing in. It runs on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you play, survives a force quit without losing a minute, and closes into a ledger that adds up by day, by month, by game and by venue. What makes it a book rather than a diary is the arithmetic. Cagebook knows the house edge of the game you actually played — six decks or two, dealer hits soft 17 or stands, 3:2 or 6:5, single zero or double — and works out what the night was expected to cost from your average bet and the pace of the table. Set that against what really happened and you get the part that was luck, measured in standard deviations rather than in feelings. Poker turns the engine off and gives you a win rate, its confidence interval, tournament ROI and risk of ruin instead. Limits are yours to set and the app makes them visible: a monthly budget, a loss limit for the session, a time alert, a warning at 80% and again at 100%, and a cool-off that pauses new sessions for as long as you chose and cannot be talked down early. Cagebook cannot stop anyone gambling and never pretends to. It makes the choice legible while you are standing there, and it keeps a helpline one tap away. When the year ends there is a win/loss statement as a PDF, every session as a CSV, a log of jackpots and tax forms with photographs of the paperwork, and an encrypted backup you can carry to a new phone. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and nothing to buy. Your sessions never leave your phone — the only thing that touches the network is Apple's map imagery, exactly as it does in Apple Maps. Lock the whole book behind Face ID if you would rather it stayed shut. The map is public. The book is yours.Read more
