Basket Burner is a flight and crew logbook made for hot air balloon pilots and the people who chase them. Every flight records the launch site, the envelope and burner you flew, how much propane you loaded and burned, the wind layers you rode at altitude, who was in the basket, who was in the chase vehicle, and the landowner whose field you landed in. RIGGING CHECKLIST Seventeen pre-flight checks across envelope, basket, burner, fuel and crew. A flight cannot be closed until every item is ticked, so your logbook only ever holds properly rigged flights. WIND LAYERS ON A ROSE Log each layer you took at altitude with direction and speed, and see them plotted on a wind rose so the box you flew is obvious at a glance. PROPANE AND BURN RATE Loaded and burned figures give you the burn rate per hour and the reserve you landed with, so fuel planning improves flight after flight. CREW AND LANDOWNERS Passengers and chase crew collect into a directory with flight counts. Every landing field keeps its landowner and whether they were thanked, with a running count of who still needs a visit. LAUNCH WINDOWS Dawn and dusk windows are worked out from sunrise and sunset at your home site, seven days ahead. Optional reminders fire before each window with your chosen lead time. FLEET Envelopes carry their volume, colour, hours flown and the date of the last annual inspection, with a countdown and reminders at thirty days, seven days and on the day.
