About
You finished the lessons. You know the words. Then someone asks you a simple question, and nothing comes out. Saystep is speaking practice built on your own answers, for English speakers learning Latin American Spanish, French, everyday Seoul Korean or Mandarin Chinese. Pick a language when you open the app; switch any time. Everything is explained in English. HOW IT WORKS • Answer a short question out loud, or respond to an everyday scene: ordering coffee, asking for directions, checking in at a hotel. • See what you said, a more natural way to say it, and a slightly richer version to stretch toward. • Pick the one sentence you got stuck on and practice just that. Record a Before, practice, record an After, and hear the difference in your own voice. • Go back to the conversation. The next question follows up on what you actually said. SPANISH PRONUNCIATION 100 short lessons on what English speakers really struggle with: the five pure vowels, the tap r and rolled rr (pero / perro), p, t and k without the puff of air, soft b, d and g, j, ñ, ll and silent h, stress and accent marks (hablo / habló), linking, rhythm and question intonation. FRENCH PRONUNCIATION 60 lessons: u and ou (tu / tout), nasal vowels, the French r, silent endings, é and è, eu, the light e, liaison and linking between words, rhythm and questions, ch, j and gn, plus everyday phrases for a café and getting around. Required liaisons are marked in the sentence. Strangers are addressed with vous. KOREAN PRONUNCIATION 48 lessons: plain, aspirated and tense consonants (가 / 카 / 까), vowels such as 어 / 오 and 으, final consonants, the Korean ㄹ, and the sound changes that make written and spoken Korean differ. Answers are in Hangul with an English translation, in polite 해요 style. MANDARIN PRONUNCIATION 60 lessons: tones in short phrases and connected speech, light (neutral) syllables, everyday tone changes such as 你好 and 不, aspirated and unaspirated sounds (b / p), j / q / x, z / c / s and zh / ch / sh, the rounded ü and final sounds, plus everyday phrases for ordering, directions and small talk. Simplified characters with tone-marked pinyin you can show or hide. Each lesson has a synthetic reference voice, a pitch curve you can compare with your own, and optional AI pronunciation feedback. Pinyin and pitch curves are learning aids, not a tone grade. PRACTICE OFFLINE Tap "Go offline" at the top of the screen and the app sends nothing: no sign-in, no AI feedback, no purchase checks, no usage statistics. Recording and playback, Before / After, the lessons, reference audio, pitch comparison and your history on this device keep working. Tap "Offline: on" to go back online. FREE AND PLUS Recording, playback, Before / After, the lessons, pitch comparison and on-device history are free. AI feedback needs an account and an internet connection: Free includes 30 uses a month (up to 5 a day) for each language. Saystep Plus raises that to 300 a month with no daily limit, and one subscription covers every language. Saystep Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or annual. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. GOOD TO KNOW AI feedback and example answers are study aids. They do not guarantee that a pronunciation is correct, and a noisy recording may not be assessable. Reference audio is a synthetic Mexican Spanish, French, Seoul Korean or Mandarin voice. Scene pictures are AI-generated illustrations. Nothing is sent for AI feedback until you agree on the in-app consent screen, which says exactly what is sent and to whom. Deleting your account deletes your data for every language. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://saystep.app/privacyRead more
