Velcord

Velcord is used by residents, neighbourhoods and estate communities across Nigeria to look out for one another and to manage the everyday business of where they live - from reaching the people you trust the moment you sense danger, to knowing what is happening around your neighbourhood. EVERYTHING ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE, IN ONE PLACE Velcord handles the two things that decide how living somewhere actually feels: whether you are safe, and whether your residence runs properly. WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH VELCORD • Get help in seconds: Press and hold the SOS button, and your trusted contacts know you need help and exactly where you are. It gets through even when the network doesn't. • Walk with your people: Someone stays with you the whole way without having to keep you on a call. They know when you arrive and when you don't. • Set a check-in Timer: Set a timer for when you expect to be back from an outing. If you don't check-in on time, the people you chose hear about it without you having to do anything extra. • Know your neighbourhood: See what neighbours are reporting near you and how close it is, so you know which way not to go tonight. Reports are anonymous and are never about a person, only about what is happening. WHY NIGERIANS CHOOSE VELCORD • Alerts that work on a bad network, not just a good one • Your location goes only to the people you chose, and nobody else • Neighbourhood reports that keeps you updated • Safety is never for sale. A panic alert always reaches your people Get started in under Two Minutes • Download Velcord and sign up with your phone number • Add the people who should hear from you when it matters • Find your estate, or suggest it if it is not on Velcord yet Built for How Nigerians Actually Live • For the student walking back from a late lecture, the parent who wants to know their daughter got home, the tenant tired of chasing a receipt, and the neighbour who would rather warn the street than post about it afterwards. • Residence management features go live estate by estate, so what you see depends on where you live. If your community is not on Velcord yet, suggest it from the app and we will let you know the moment it is ready.
