About
The "Leftover Bin" — a tool to determine if your renovation leftovers are sufficient for touch-ups. After renovations wrap up, leftover paint, adhesive, and grout often end up scattered in storage. When scratches or color mismatches appear on the walls, it is hard to tell at a glance: which wall can this can still cover? Can these two batches be mixed? Which room actually lacks a backup supply? The Leftover Bin closes this loop by consolidating all these details. When logging items, you record the type, color swatch, sheen, base material, batch number, remaining quantity, coverage rate, and shelf life, while assigning them to specific shelves and rooms. The dashboard categorizes items into lanes—Unopened, Opened, At Risk, and Archived—and allows filtering by type, room, shelf, or date. Shelves feature zones and flexible capacity limits; rooms are linked to wall surface areas; and the workspace uses color-coding to indicate stock status: sufficient backup, low supply, or no backup. When comparing options, the system scores leftovers based on room requirements, touch-up scale, and preferences for type and sheen, resulting in a status of "Sufficient," "Close," or "Insufficient." It also compares batch details—color distance, base material, sheen, batch number, and days since opening—to advise whether to mix, test first, or avoid mixing. You can save conclusions and reserve preferred items. Daily logs track mixing and container rotation, pinning the next can to be used; items are archived once depleted, transferred, or dried out, but can be retrieved if needed. A summary dashboard provides insights on total coverage, room-specific deficits, inventory composition, waste, and items nearing expiration. Give it a try today!Read more
