About
MathWiz teaches elementary kids how to do math in their heads — not just what the answer is, but the step-by-step strategy for getting there. Instead of drilling flashcards, MathWiz shows the "why" behind each strategy with friendly animated visuals: ten-frames for counting, number-bond diagrams for splitting numbers apart, and more. Kids see numbers broken down and recombined the same way a strong mental mathematician would do it in their head. Each module includes three ways to practice: • Learn — watch the strategy explained step by step • Try — test yourself with instant feedback • Learn & Try — get the explanation right when you need it Multiple kids can use the same iPad or iPhone — every child gets their own local profile with progress tracked separately. MathWiz is completely offline. There are no accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases, and no data collection of any kind — everything stays on the device. Current modules: • Ten Frames — visual counting foundations • Make a Ten — the classic addition strategy for single digits • Split the Tens — decomposing two-digit addition problems More strategy modules are on the way.Read more

Versions
- Version 1.1.0First seen · 29 Sept 2026
MathWiz 1.1 makes practice more fun. Kids now earn stars for correct answers and spend them on fur colors and hats for their fox buddy, and a friendly fox reacts to every answer in the games. We've added sound effects (with an on/off switch in Settings), new lessons on division and fractions, and better support for VoiceOver and larger text. Settings and Reports now sit behind a quick grown-ups-only check.
