FreshScan: Food Expiration

Scan it now. Use it before you lose it. FreshScan turns the date printed on your food into a reminder. Point your iPhone at the label, check the date it found, and tap Save. No typing, no barcode lookups, no account. Just a clear list of what to eat first, and a nudge before anything goes to waste. HOW IT WORKS • Aim at the date. FreshScan finds it live in the camera view and snaps a photo of the product so you know what it was. • Confirm with one tap. You see the full date and its type (Use By, Best By, Sell By or Expiration) before anything is saved. • Keep going. The scanner stays open, so a week of groceries takes a couple of minutes. • Get reminded. By default, a notification 2 days ahead and another at 9 AM on the day, worded for the kind of date it is. READS REAL LABELS • US, European and ISO formats: 09/17/26, 17.09.2026, 2026-09-17, SEP 17 2026, 17SEP26 and more • Month-only dates like BB 09/26, read as the end of that month and clearly marked • Dates with no printed year, placed in the right year automatically • Picks the expiry date over packed-on, manufactured and lot codes • Two dates on one label? FreshScan shows both and lets you choose. It never guesses. • Set Month first or Day first in Settings if your labels use one order • Label won't read? Enter the date by hand in a few taps. On iPhones without live scanning, take or choose a photo instead. KNOW WHAT TO EAT FIRST • Home sorts everything into Use Today, Next 3 Days and Later, each with its photo • Swipe to mark an item Used or Thrown Away, with undo if you slip • Fix a name or date anytime, and add what an item cost if you want to track value • Optional app icon badge counts items due today or past their date • Full Dark Mode, Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support SEE YOUR PROGRESS Mark what you used and what you tossed, and FreshScan Pro shows this month's value used versus thrown away, the share you used rather than wasted, and a six-month trend. Figures are estimates based on the prices you enter. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything stays on your iPhone. There is no server, no account and no sign-in. • No analytics, no ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. • Dates are read on your device and scanning works fully offline. • Delete All Data in Settings removes every item, photo and reminder at once. FRESHSCAN PRO The free version keeps up to 10 active items with the standard reminders.
