About
Priceish turns a foreign price tag into a number you actually feel. You are standing in a shop abroad. The tag says $25. Priceish tells you what that means in the money you think in — before the moment passes. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Quick Price A ladder of the amounts you actually see on price tags, already converted. No typing. Open the tab and the whole price range of the country is in front of you. Below it, the same tab turns a few round amounts of your own money into local money and, where statistics are available, shows how the overall price level there compares with home. Price Sense Register the prices you know by heart — your usual coffee, your usual lunch. Priceish compares what you convert against the closest one: "7.7× your Coffee." A number becomes a judgement you can act on. What it actually costs there An exchange rate gives you a number. It does not tell you whether that number is expensive where you are standing. Priceish also shows what the same price would feel like back home, using published price-level data for each country: "Feels like ¥4,800 in Japan." One tap opens the breakdown — today's rate, the price-level estimate, the years the statistics come from, and where every number came from. It is an estimate for everyday spending, never presented as an exact price, and countries without recent statistics are left out rather than guessed. You pick both countries, so it works wherever you live and wherever you travel. Your own amounts The amounts you convert stay on the first screen, so the price you checked five minutes ago is one tap away. Star the ones you keep coming back to and they stay on top. With more than one reference price registered, a single tap shows how the same tag compares with all of them at once. Works offline Rates are saved on your device and the app ships with a full set built in, so it converts in the subway, on the plane and in the dead zone behind the market. It always tells you how old the rates are — quietly when they are fresh, clearly when they are not. You will never mistake a week-old rate for today's. Tip and split Choose the country and the kind of service, and Priceish starts from the customary tip for that situation, with its source shown on screen. In the United States it covers table service, bars, taxis, hotels and more; for a hotel you count bags and days instead of typing a bill. For Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and South Korea it gives a one-line summary of local custom. Anywhere else, tap 10 / 15 / 18 / 20 / 25% or fine-tune by 1%. If the service charge is already on the bill, one switch sets the tip to zero so you do not pay twice. Split by the number of people and see the total in the local currency and in yours at the same time. BUILT FOR THE STREET, NOT THE TRADING DESK - Big numbers you can read at a glance - A keypad fixed to the bottom half, reachable with one thumb - Three tabs, no menus to get lost in - No account, no login, no location access Rates come from Frankfurter, which aggregates rates published by central banks and other official sources. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Quick Price
A ladder of the amounts you actually see on price tags, already converted. No typing. Open the tab and the whole price range of the country is in front of you. Below it, the same tab turns a few round amounts of your own money into local money and, where statistics are available, shows how the overall price level there compares with home.
Price Sense
Register the prices you know by heart — your usual coffee, your usual lunch. Priceish compares what you convert against the closest one: "7.7× your Coffee." A number becomes a judgement you can act on.
What it actually costs there
An exchange rate gives you a number. The amounts you convert stay on the first screen, so the price you checked five minutes ago is one tap away. Star the ones you keep coming back to and they stay on top. With more than one reference price registered, a single tap shows how the same tag compares with all of them at once.
