About
A pocket companion for the days you spend near the sea. Somewhere in a small harbour on the coast there is always a kitchen with a pot bubbling on the stove, a shelf of cold jars waiting to be poured, a shelved book of the strange creatures that live below the pier, and a stack of well-thumbed cards on things worth knowing. Brinelle Harbour is a compact version of that harbour, made to sit in the pocket for any afternoon by the water. The Galley holds seafood recipes gathered from an open cookery archive. Each dish arrives with a photograph, an ingredient list, and step-by-step instructions. Alongside it, a small library of coastal refreshers pours from an open drinks archive — non-alcoholic tropical mocktails, iced teas, coconut coolers, summer lemonades. Everything cool and bright, nothing that would raise the age rating. The Creatures shelf is an open field guide to the marine world. Names, sizes, habitats, feeding habits, curious facts. Each entry loads with the best public-domain photograph available and a short encyclopaedic note, from the smallest reef fish up through the great whales. There is also a set of packing templates for coastal outings, a compact set of practical cards for common shore-time troubles like a jellyfish sting or a sea urchin spine, a leaf-through gallery of famous lighthouses from every coast, and a small novelty section that renders any name or word as a row of the international maritime signal flags. An offline glossary of the sea's own vocabulary sits alongside them, ready for whenever a nautical term comes up. Sections pull their content from open cookery, drinks, and reference archives on first launch, and then keep everything on the device for offline use afterwards. There is no account to sign into anywhere in the app, and nothing is sent back beyond the requests each open archive answers.Read more
