About

Talk2Otto reads your vehicle's own diagnostic computer and hands what it finds to OTTO, your automotive best friend at OttoBotRepair.com. Plug a Bluetooth OBD-II dongle into the diagnostic port under your dash, tap Connect, and Talk2Otto shows you what your engine computer is reporting right now: - Trouble codes behind the check engine light - Engine RPM, speed, coolant temperature and throttle position - Engine load, fuel trims, intake pressure and air temperature - Timing advance, mass air flow and oxygen sensor voltages - Whatever else your vehicle supports - the app asks your car which sensors it has instead of guessing THEN SEND IT TO OTTO Ask OTTO for a four-digit code on OttoBotRepair.com, type it into the app, and your codes and readings land in that conversation. OTTO can then work through them with you: what the codes mean on your vehicle, what to check first, and what the repair usually involves. WHAT YOU NEED - A Bluetooth Low Energy OBD-II dongle (widely available for around $25) - A car or light truck sold in the United States from 1996 onwards, or a vehicle sold in Europe from 2001 (petrol) or 2004 (diesel) WHAT IT READS Standard OBD-II data as defined by SAE J1979. Manufacturer-specific systems such as ABS, airbags, transmission modules and tyre pressure monitoring need dealer-level tools and are not covered. Electric vehicles expose very little standard data. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your phone unless you enter a code and send it. There is no account in the app, no location access, no advertising and no analytics.Read more
