About

Walked a great route and can't remember the way back? TrailKeeper is a GPS walking route tracker that records the course on your phone, so you can walk it again, share it with friends, or hand it to your walking group. Made for city walks, park connectors and easy day trails, not alpine expeditions. If your walks are urban parks, coastal paths, riverside connectors and gentle hills, this is the walking and trail app built for them. WHAT IT DOES - Record a walk with the screen off. GPS keeps running while your phone is in your pocket. - Save it as a route. On save, the track is tidied onto real paths where the map has them, and kept as recorded where it doesn't (forest trails, boardwalks). - Follow a saved route. Your position is shown on the line, a warning appears if you drift off it, and turns are called out ahead. - Extend, reverse or trim a route. Start it from the nearest MRT station or bus stop instead of wherever the recording began. - Built-in official trails. Park connector loops and nature trails published as open data by government agencies (sources listed below): Singapore (bundled), Hong Kong, Japan, United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Korea (downloadable packs). Tap one, save it, follow it. - Import and export GPX. Open a GPX file from any app in TrailKeeper, or send a route to a friend as GPX or as an image. - Routes and My walks. Every saved route in one Routes list, and every walk you've recorded on one footprint map with monthly totals. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO - No account. No sign-up. No cloud. - No tracking. Your routes and walks live only on your phone. Nothing is uploaded except the anonymous route requests needed to tidy a track onto paths. WHO IT'S FOR Weekend walkers, park-connector regulars, walking-group leaders who get asked "what was that route again?", and anyone who wants to re-walk a trail with family without worrying about the way. GOOD TO KNOW - Works best in urban parks, park connectors and well-mapped walking trails. It is a walking aid, not a survival tool: the final judgment on where to step is always yours. - Map tiles and the path-tidying step need an internet connection; recording itself works without one. - Official trail data is used under each publisher's open licence; source and licence details are also shown under Data sources & licences inside the app. DATA SOURCES (official trail data) - Singapore: National Parks Board via data.gov.sg, https://data.gov.sg/datasets/d_306cc1018cb733346681883ee6d73054/view and https://data.gov.sg/datasets/d_a69ef89737379f231d2ae93fd1c5707f/view (Singapore Open Data Licence) - Hong Kong: Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department via CSDI, https://portal.csdi.gov.hk/geoportal/?datasetId=afcd_rcd_1665568199103_4360 (data.gov.hk terms) - Japan: Ministry of the Environment, https://www.env.go.jp/nature/long-trail.html (Public Data Licence v1.0) - United Kingdom: Natural England, National Trails (England) open data, https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/natural-england (Open Government Licence v3.0) - New Zealand: Department of Conservation, DOC Tracks open data, https://www.doc.govt.nz (CC BY 4.0) - South Korea: Korea Hiking & Trekking Support Center via data.go.kr, https://www.data.go.kr/data/15108080/fileData.do TrailKeeper is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these agencies.
