About
Podarium is the native iOS client for your self-hosted Podarium podcast server. Point the app at your server and every show you follow is on your phone, with your place in each episode kept in step wherever you last listened. Because you run the server, your listening stays entirely under your control. The server fetches feeds, audio and artwork on your behalf, so no podcast publisher ever sees a request from your phone - only from your server. There is no account to create with anyone but yourself, and nothing about what you listen to leaves your own hardware. FEATURES • Inbox - everything new across every show, with filters for unplayed, in progress and starred, and search across your subscriptions. • A proper player - background audio, lock-screen and CarPlay controls, headset buttons, chapter markers, per-show playback speed, intro and outro skipping, and a sleep timer that can stop at the end of the episode. • Picks up where you left off - start an episode on the desktop, finish it on the phone. Positions, played state and stars sync both ways. • Queue - line up episodes, reorder by drag, and the next one starts when the current one ends. Queued episodes download to the phone automatically so they play without signal, and clean themselves up once heard. • Offline downloads - keep any episode on the device; a switch decides whether that may happen over mobile data. • Transcripts and chapters - read what was said, jump between chapters, and skip sponsor breaks the publisher marked. • Bookmarks - mark the moment worth coming back to, with a note, and find it again from any device. • Discover - search and browse trending shows, subscribe in one tap, and preview a show before adding it. • Per-show settings - speed, silence trimming, loudness levelling, sponsor skipping, retention and auto-download, each per show or inherited from your defaults. • Statistics - time actually listened, not time marked played, plus what faster playback and trimmed silence have saved you. • Share - send an episode as a link that opens in whichever podcast app the recipient uses. • New-episode notifications and an icon badge, so the inbox count is right before you open the app. • OPML import and export, so your subscriptions are never locked in. Podarium requires a Podarium server. It is a client for that server, not a standalone product. The server is open source and self-hostable: github.com/jwapps-app/podarium Try it first: the sign-in screen offers a built-in sample library that needs no server at all.Read more
