About

TrueBallistics starts where other ballistic apps stop. Every solver will take a bullet's published numbers and draw you a trajectory. That trajectory is right up until the point your rifle disagrees with it, and past 600 yards your rifle usually does. TrueBallistics goes the other way. Tell it what your rifle actually did. The come-up you dialed at 400, at 600, at 925. It works backwards from those holds to a corrected solution for that barrel, that load, that scope. Not a book number. Yours. Then it carries that dope with you. Shoot your data on a 90 degree afternoon at 300 feet, come back in January at 5,000, and the app does not throw your work away and start over from the book. It moves your own dope onto the new air. WHAT ELSE IS IN IT Dope card. Any range band, any step, printed small enough to tape to a stock. Turret tape. Measure your elevation cap with calipers, say how much the turret moves in one full turn, and the app lays out the tick marks and your own yardages around the circumference at true size. Print it, cut it, wrap the cap. Nothing else does this automatically. Sight in backwards. Type where the group landed at 100 and it tells you the zero you actually have, not the one you meant to have. Point blank range, and sight height worked out from two caliper measurements. Reload logbook. Bullet, powder, charge, primer, brass, seating depth, measured velocity, and its own dope, for each load. Several loads per rifle. Conditions. One button reads the nearest National Weather Service station and your phone's own barometer. Or type it all in by hand. Both work. Bullet, cartridge, powder and scope libraries are built in, so setting up a new rifle takes minutes instead of an evening. HOW IT WORKS No account and no sign in. Your rifles and your dope live on your device and are never uploaded. No ads, no analytics, nothing running in the background. The only time the app touches the internet at all is when you press the weather button. Everything else works with no signal, which is where most people shoot. TrueBallistics does not publish load data and never will. Your manual and the powder maker's current published data are the authority on charges. Molon Labe LLC Corning, ArkansasRead more

Fixes a serious one. A velocity measured over a chronograph and entered on the load was ignored whenever the rifle screen already had a figure on it, so a shot solution could be built on a number typed months earlier and long since wrong, with nothing on screen to say which figure was in use. There is now one velocity per rifle, with doors onto it from the rifle screen, the load, sight in and range day. Type it anywhere and it changes everywhere. A chronograph reading the app has not seen before always wins. A figure you type afterwards stands. A box velocity fills a gap and never overrules y…
