About

Weather Sprite tells you what the weather is doing where your iPhone is now — and what the next part of the day is likely to feel like. Instead of filling the screen with charts, maps, percentages and long forecasts, Weather Sprite turns the available weather information into a short, natural summary. Open the app and get the useful part first: the current conditions, what is coming next, and whether the weather is likely to interfere with what you are doing. Weather Sprite is deliberately calm about rain. A brief passing shower does not have to dominate the forecast. More persistent rain, repeated showers, thunderstorms or other meaningful weather are given more attention. When the evidence is uncertain or changing, the wording stays appropriately cautious rather than pretending the forecast is more certain than it is. Weather for where you actually are Weather Sprite uses your iPhone’s current location to provide weather for the area around you. There is no need to choose a city every time you move somewhere new. Built on trusted weather information Weather Sprite uses Open-Meteo for current conditions and forecast information. In Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada radar and official weather alerts provide additional local context. In the United States, NOAA radar and National Weather Service alerts provide that additional local context. Weather Sprite brings these sources together and interprets them into simple, conversational summaries rather than presenting the raw weather data. A compact widget also gives you a quick look at your local weather without having to open the app. Weather Sprite does not require an account. Your location is used to provide local weather and is not used to build an advertising profile. Weather is never perfectly predictable, but Weather Sprite is designed to help answer a simpler question: What is the weather likely to be like around me over the next several hours?Read more
