About
Each step across a room logs a signal reading at that exact position on the floor plan. Walking through an apartment or office with the phone in hand builds a coverage map from three layers of data: signal strength, measured throughput, and the wifi channel in use at each point. Readings accumulate as the walk continues, filling in a heat map that shows where coverage drops off and where it holds steady, room by room, wall by wall. Furniture, closed doors, and concrete walls leave a visible mark on the resulting gradient. Two access points can be compared side by side on the same floor plan, with overlapping and dead zones marked separately from areas served by only one router. Placement can then be tested again from a new position, and the resulting map replaces or layers over the previous scan for direct comparison between setups. A router in the wrong spot now shows exactly where the signal stops reaching.Read more
