About

Baitro Range is an offline thermal-process bench for home canning. Enter your pack — food type, jar diameter and height, fill temperature, and heating mode — then set your process: method (boiling-water bath or pressure canner), gauge pressure, come-up time, hold, and cooling. The app solves heat penetration into the jar using a finite-difference thermal solver and integrates the lethality delivered at the cold spot, reporting F0 or pasteurization units against the safety target for your food class. The signature Jar Bench screen draws the actual computed heat field inside a cutaway view of your jar — not a decorative gradient, but the real solution updating every frame as you drag a scrubber through the thermal history. Watch the cold-spot temperature lag behind the retort, see lethality accumulate through come-up, hold, and cooling, and drag the hold-time handle to re-solve the process live. A haptic fires the moment accumulated lethality crosses the target. Discover how much the cooling phase contributes — often 30 to 40 percent of the total, and the reason a tested recipe's hold time is shorter than intuition suggests. The Acidity tool draws the dissociation curve for acetic acid, runs a vinegar mass balance on your pack, and shows which processing method the pH 4.6 fork demands — with a haptic exactly at the threshold. The Altitude tool plots boiling point against elevation and shows the lethality penalty your bath takes at your location versus sea level. A seeded recipe library covers both sides of the pH fork with over a dozen process packs, each with a sparkline lethality curve. Batch history keeps a logged record of delivered F0 against target; Label Studio lets you compose a label card from an in-app photo and save it to your photo library. Baitro Range is a teaching and inspection bench. It computes the physics of the process you describe. The process you run must come from a tested recipe published by a food-safety authority; Baitro Range is for understanding why that recipe looks the way it does.Read more
