About

Warmside is a working companion for insulating a house and understanding its thermal envelope. Assemble a up from the cold side to the warm side, see the U-value change with every layer, check whether moisture will condense inside the construction, work out how much insulation, membrane and tape to order, and keep the whole job in a project with stages, a take-off and a site diary. The maths is shown, not hidden: every calculator has a Show Working panel with the formula, the substituted numbers and the intermediate values. What you can do - Make a wall, pitched roof, flat roof, ground floor, suspended floor or loft ceiling in the U-Value maker from library materials, cavity presets or your own layers, and compare the result with a target you set - Find the insulation thickness needed to reach a target U-value, rounded up to real product sizes, and compare three insulants side by side - Run a steady-state Glaser condensation check across every layer boundary, with temperature, dew point and a Pass or Risk verdict, then try a fix and recalculate - Estimate room heat loss through fabric and ventilation, add rooms into a heating demand with a margin and a low-temperature system correction - Quantify insulation packs, membrane rolls, tape lengths, battens and roof ventilation openings, and price the lot by category with a waste allowance - Check dew point and the 80 percent surface humidity threshold behind mould, and see what a warmer surface or drier air would change - Learn from thirty-five short lessons in five tracks, each with a drawn diagram, key numbers, takeaways and common mistakes - Test yourself with sixty questions in six formats, from ordering layers to diagnosing damp from symptoms, and track your scores over time - Browse twenty insulation and membrane materials and eighteen tools with properties, best uses, honest limitations and safety notes, add them to your kit and send what you still need to a project take-off - Manage projects from six templates with nine stages of hour-costed tasks, an element register, a budget-tracked take-off, a site diary that charts moisture readings as timbers dry, and report cards - Ask Thermist, the built-in assistant, to plan a fabric-first retrofit, diagnose damp, review a up or answer a question, with sessions saved for later Warmside keeps everything on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. The calculators, lessons, library and projects work without a connection; only the Thermist assistant sends the text you choose to submit, and only after you have read and accepted the notice. Design conditions, surface resistances, target U-values, waste allowance and currency are all editable in Settings. Results are for planning and estimating; the condensation method is simplified and steady-state, and a qualified professional should confirm any insulation, ventilation or vapour control design against the rules in force where you make.Read more
